Watch how Lamborghini’s new Le Mans challenger came to life
The new car, built to the LMDh ruleset, has undergone extensive testing since last summer when it was first ready for action. Lamborghini has released a detailed film on YouTube called Rush to the Hyper, taking fans behind the scenes during the creation and testing of the Ligier-chassied machine equipped with a 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine with a hybrid system. The film showcases the car’s development process, including insights from the Sauber wind tunnel where its aerodynamics were refined on a 60% scale model. It also candidly portrays the car’s serious crash at Paul Ricard during testing and how the team, led by driver Mirko Bortolotti, recovered and integrated ex-F1 star Romain Grosjean into the project.
